Nursing and Personal Care

The resident care program of John Noble Home is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care. The primary goal of all members of the team is to maximize the independence of each resident through a supportive environment.

The program consists of the following levels of staff:

  • Director of Care (DOC). This is the senior nursing position accountable for planning, organizing and evaluating all nursing care services.
  • Assistant Director of Care. This position is accountable to the DOC for planning, organizing and evaluating all nursing care services. The staff working on each home area includes the following classifications: Registered Nurse (R.N.), Registered Practical Nurse (R.P.N.), Personal Support Worker, and Ward Clerk. Each has a specific job description and collectively forms the care team for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care each resident receives.
  • Nurse Practitioner. The role at the John Noble Home provides primary care services to residents, in collaboration with the Medical Director.
  • Registered Nurse (RN). There is an RN in the building 24 hours a day, 7 days a week..

Medical Services

The John Noble Home employs a Medical Director to:

  • participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team
  • ensure medical coverage for the Home 24 hours/day, seven days/week
  • provide an alternative for emergency medical coverage
  • monitor and regulate policy and practice for all attending physicians

A resident may have the physician of his/her choice, if the physician has attending privileges at the Home, and is in compliance with the Ministry Standards for medical coverage for a long term care home.

The John Noble Home (JNH) has a proud and long standing care-giving tradition, dating back to 1881. Today, we offer several different quality programs devoted to senior housing, care, and services that operate within our care campus.
